Beverly Hills, CA – Story Kitchen and Toys“R”Us Studios, the entertainment production arm of the beloved global toy brand, have teamed up to develop a live action film set to push the boundaries of play, in a modern, fast paced adventure combining futuristic fantasy, time travel and a nod to nostalgia.
With a blend of heart, humor, and spectacle this movie will captivate Toys“R”Us kids of all ages, bringing to life the unparalleled magic of Toys“R”Us in a new way.

Dmitri M. Johnson & Mike Goldberg, Co-Founders of Story Kitchen, shared their excitement for the project:
“Toys“R”Us is a cultural touchstone that continues impacting the child in all of us today. As ‘80s kids who considered Toys“R”Us one of the most magical places on Earth, we’re honored to partner to create a film that will capture the spirit of adventure, creativity, and nostalgia that Toys“R”Us represents.”
Kim Miller Olko, President of Toys“R”Us Studios, added, “As Toys“R”Us’ first film, this project is an exciting opportunity to bring the magic of our brand to the big screen. It will be a journey as boundless as play itself, evoking the electric sense of wonder that is the essence of Toys”R” Us. This story will capture the imagination, adventure, and joy that has made Toy“R”Us a destination for kids of all ages.”
The project is currently in early development, with Story Kitchen and Toys“R”Us Studios working closely to craft a compelling story that blends childhood wonder with high-stakes adventure. Casting, directorial choices, and additional details will be announced in the coming months.
